This handsome lad is Cooper, a very lucky 2-year-old Lab/Husky/Staffordshire Terrier mix who was surrendered with his brother to a high-kill shelter in California by previous owners. Cooper’s brother was aggressive toward him, leaving bite marks and a few scars that still remain. His brother was adopted first, leaving Cooper in the shelter while time was running out. He was scheduled to be euthanized and still hadn’t been adopted. Shelter employees and FurFriends Animal Rescue desperately raced against time to find a foster home or adopter for him, but time ran out and Cooper’s euthanasia date arrived. Fortunately for Cooper, an amazing employee at the shelter hid him in his office, saving him from death until FurFriends was able to get him to a foster family. Upon being released from the shelter, Cooper was very underweight, had kennel cough and was extremely stressed and scared. His incredible foster family nursed him back to health until he was adopted and ready for transport via Rescue Express from California to his forever home in Oregon.
